Use MailList to create a list session of a message.
MailList may also be entered as MailLi[st], ListMail, LiMail, or Op[en].
Optional Operands
ID is a four digit number assigned to the message. If ID is not specified, the first message in the incoming-mail queue will be displayed.
MailList may be invoked without operands by pressing F9.
MailList can also be invoked by entering the ContextList command while a MailLibrary session is current.
BIM-EDIT maintains three mail queues.
Incoming-Mail: Messages you have received but have not displayed.
Mail-set-aside: Messages you have displayed but not purged.
Outgoing-Mail: Messages you have sent but have not been displayed by the DEST user.
The MailLibrary command lists entries for all three queues.
If the incoming-mail queue contains any messages, the word MAIL will flash on the information line. When a message is opened (i.e. listed) from the incoming-mail queue, it is transferred to the mail-set-aside queue. If the List session is then terminated with the SessionClose command, the message can be displayed again using MailList with the ID. If the session is terminated with the SessionDiscard command, the message will be deleted from the mail-set-aside queue. When you List a message from your incoming-mail queue, the message text is logged to $Mail. $Mail can be displayed by invoking the $MailList command.
