BIM-EDIT/XP may be installed from a LAN server. The following is one possible method of setting up the server so that each workstation can install BIM-EDIT/XP from the server (the server is assumed to be referenced by each workstation as the the F drive):
If BIM-EDIT/XP was not installed on the server, create the following directories:
F:\BimEdit
F:\BimEdit\Install
F:\BimEdit\Site
F:\BimEdit\Site\Compile
Copy all files on the BIM-EDIT/XP distribution diskette to directory F:\BimEdit\Install.
Create in directory F:\BimEdit a procedure Install.CMD containing the following lines:
F:\BimEdit\Install\Install.CMD
copy F:\BimEdit\Site\* C:\BimEdit\Site\*
copy F:\BimEdit\Site\Compile\* C:\BimEdit\Site\Compile\*
Customized procedures and control files that are to apply to every workstation are created in F:\BimEdit\Site and F:\BimEdit\Site\Compile.
Any workstation can then install BIM-EDIT/XP by entering:
f:\bimedit\install
