Use DirDefine to create a new directory.
DirDefine may also be entered as DirDef[ine], DefineDir, DefDir, DefineL, DefL, or MD.
DirDefine is supported for BIM and workstation directories only. It is not supported for PDS or VSE directories.
Required Operands
DIR is the BIM or workstation directory to be created.
Optional Operands
TITLE is a title of, comment about, or description of the directory. TITLE can be up to 40 characters.
USER is purely documentary.
Default: Log-on user ID.
When Valid
For BIM directories, the user must have DEFL access level for the directory prefix of the LIB directory (the part of the directory name preceding an imbedded period). If DIR has no prefix, the user must have system-wide DEFL access.
Return Codes
OK Successful.
DP Directory already exists.
SC Inadequate access level.
Procedure Notes
DirDefine sets the TXL variables to the attributes of the DIR directory.
Examples
You are currently attached to workstation directory PE00. Define workstation directory PE00\Obj:
