Use DirDelete to delete an empty directory.  (FileDelete  or FileRename must first be used to remove all files from the directory.)

DirDelete may also be entered as DirDel[ete], DirPur[ge], DeleteDir, DelDir, PurgeDir, PurDir, PurgeL, PurL, or RD.

DirDelete is supported for BIM and workstation directories only.  It is not supported for PDS or VSE directories.

Required Operands

DIR is the BIM or workstation directory to be deleted.

DirDelete can also be invoked by entering the ContextDelete command while a DirLibrary session is current.

The directory must be empty to be deleted, that is, there must not be any files in the directory.

When Valid

For BIM directories, the user must have DEFL access level for the directory prefix of the DIR directory (the part of the directory name preceding an imbedded period).  If DIR has no prefix, the user must have system-wide DEFL access.

Return Codes

OK Successful.

CH Directory has file(s).

NF Directory not found.

SC Inadequate access level.

Procedure Notes

DirDelete sets the TXL variables to the attributes of the DIR directory.
