Use ContextEdit to create Edit session(s) of the object(s) identified by the selection or cursor context.

ContextEdit may also be entered as ContextEd[it].

ContextEdit may also be invoked by pressing F12.

Optional Operands

LIST [relevant for BIM, PDS, and VSE files] specifies whether ContextEdit will create a List session of FILE if Edit access to FILE is denied for security reasons. Specify "On" or "Yes" to create a List session.  Otherwise, specify "Off" or "No".

 Default: No.

ContextEdit invokes one of the following commands depending upon the type of object(s) identified by the cursor context:

DirLibrary

FileEdit

JobList

MailList

Note that ContextEdit creates read-only sessions for non-updateable objects.  For example, a JobList session is created when pointing at a job because a job is not updateable by BIM-EDIT/XP.  This feature exists primarily to support the mouse double-click feature.  The mouse double-click invokes the ContextEditcommand.  ContextEdit then creates an appropriate session type for the object pointed at by the mouse.

Return Codes

-- Return codes as defined by the command invoked by ContextEdit.
