Use FileCheckin to replace the text of a master file with the text of its slave copy.

FileCheckin may also be entered as CheckinFile, Checkin, or ChkI.

FileCheckin is supported for BIM files only.  It is not supported for workstation, PDS, or VSE files.

Optional Operands

FILE specifies either the master or the slave BIM file in a check-out relationship.

 Default: last referenced file.

The master will be replaced with the slave.  The slave will then be purged. If you want to delete the slave without updating the master, use the FileCheckDelete command.  After being checked in, the file is again in a position to be checked out.

If FILE is a Host file, and if file synchronization (see File Synchronization Facility) is active for the file, the corresponding workstation file is deleted.

FileCheckin sets last referenced file to the master file.

When Valid

If the file is checked out to the user requesting the check in, the user must have EDIT access level to the master file directory.  Otherwise, the user must have DEF access level to the master file directory.

Return Codes

OK Successful.

CK File is not part of a checkout relationship.

ED File is being edited.

LI List session(s) active.

NF File not found.

SC Inadequate access level.

Procedure Notes

FileCheckin sets the TXM variables to the attributes of the master file.
