Stamping is the process of "marking" new and updated lines with the following information:
Type of update, either "A" for new line or "M" for updated line.
Date of creation or update.
User ID performing update.
Stamping is supported for BIM and workstation files only. It is not supported for PDS and VSE files.
Stamps are stored external to the actual line text and hence are protected from normal text update operations.
Stamping is activated or inactivated for a file by the FileAlter command STAMP operand. The manner in which stamps are displayed while viewing the file is controlled by the iSessionAlter and SessionAlter command SHOWSTAMP and STAMPFMT operands.
The FileStampClear command can be used to clear stamps.
