BIM-EDIT/XP can be customized by creating files in the site directory. BIM-EDIT/XP searches the site directory for control files prior to searching the System Directory.
The site directory is usually of the name C:\BIMEDIT\SITE. The C:\BIMEDIT portion can be changed by setting the workstation environment variable BIMPATH to another value.
The site directory should be used for customization that applies to all users on all workstations. Use the Default User Directory for customization peculiar to a particular workstation.
Although the site directory usually resides on each workstation, the master copy is usually placed on a server or a host so that it can be readily replicated at any workstation.
