BIM-EDIT/XP is a cross-platform program editor, composed of:

The BIM-EDIT/XP Workstation Component, which runs on a workstation running OS/2, Windows NT, Windows 95, or Windows 3.1.

The BIM-EDIT/XP Host Component, which includes BIM-EDIT (either the VSE or MVS version), along with special interface code.

Together these components provide a BIM-EDIT/XP user a consistent method of access and update to any file, regardless of the location of the file. BIM-EDIT/XP provides a level of productivity unattainable through editors designed for use with 3270 terminals.

BIM-EDIT/XP provides:

Commands to create, rename, and delete workstation directories (see Directory Commands) and workstation files (see File Commands).

Commands to create, rename, and delete BIM directories (see Directory Commands) and BIM files (see File Commands).

Commands to create, rename, and delete PDS and VSE files (see File Commands).

A working environment.  BIM-EDIT/XP allows you to work on multiple activities at the same time and does not require that activities be closed to exit it. BIM-EDIT/XP commands have a consistent format and virtually all commands are valid whatever activity is currently active.

An interface to the OS/2 REXX procedure processor. (See FileExecute.)

A facility to compile (or assemble) programs. (See FileCompile.)

A facility to search a directory for all files containing a specified search string.  (See FileScan.)

BIM-EDIT/XP has been designed to be as flexible as possible in adapting to your preferences.  See Customization / Installation.
